Transitions

One of the key benefits that a community of learning brings is effective communication across educational sectors. Our students benefit from increased interaction between primary and secondary kura which enables our teachers to better prepare students for that changes they experience when taking the daunting step from Year 8 to Year 9.

We also believe that the post-secondary transition, from College to further study or the workplace, is becoming even more challenging for students in an ever changing world where flexibility and resilience are key. As a Kāhui Ako we are committed to ensuring our College graduates are aware of, and prepared for the challenges awaiting them.

Post-Secondary Transitions: Life Skills Day 2023

On Wednesday June the 7th, all year 13 students from our Kāhui Ako secondary schools will attend a Life Skills Day at St Patrick's College, Kilbirnie. There, they will hear from a keynote speaker, attend workshops and listen to a panel of former students speak about their post-secondary life.
