Game of Awesome

Nick Small, a teacher from St Bernard's primary school, recently visited St Patrick's College. Nick was invited by Stephanie Dodd to teach a lesson to one of her English language classes. Nick was keen to teach a session using the Game of Awesome resource to promote oral language and generate creative writing ideas. Nick pointed out that effective writing is dependent on oral language, which can be developed through the discussion of ideas and the students' own usage of words. The Game of Awesome resource is great way to promote this active discussion and share ideas in a creative and original way that the students enjoy.

Nick's session was fantastic. The Year 11 boys were so enthusiastic and embracing of the resource. Nick also felt honored to teach the boys themselves and believed that the students were a real credit to St Pat's. This is an excellent example of collaboration in action and the Kāhui Ako would like to thank Nick for his efforts.
